What Counselling Can Offer You:

Sometimes when we try and solve our problems ourselves we are too close to them. This is when we need an objective voice that is not emotionally involved that can help us take a step back and notice things that we can’t see. It is like the old saying: "You can't see the forest for the trees".

My Approach

I have been working as a counsellor since 1998 and offer confidential service to individuals and couples. I provide a caring, compassionate and respectful environment for you to talk about your problems. I don’t use a prescriptive approach preferring to work with each client individually.

During the first couple of sessions I form both an intellectual and intuitive picture of your problem. From which I will make suggestions and work with you to determine the methods and approach that are going to be the most effective in solving your problem.

This may include the following strategies:

 Helping you achieve a particular goal that you have always dreamed of but keep putting off.

 Teaching you assertiveness skills so that you can communicate better with your partner.

 Helping you to explore and resolve a past trauma that is causing you to feel inadequate at work and therefore you aren't performing as well as you could.
